Addendum to Change Impact Statement – Inpatient Services Nurses & Midwives

Addendum to Change Impact Statement – Inpatient Services Nurses & Midwives

An EMR Change Enabling Working Group of Nurses and Midwives has worked to ensure that EMR workflows provide safe patient care at Go-Live. The working group identified some amendments were required to ensure key workflows were aligned to the best patient care in a clinical setting whilst using the EMR. These changes have been reflected in an addendum to the EMR Change Impact Statement.

The addendum, relevant to Inpatient Services Nurses and Midwives, has now been prepared and you are welcome to read it here.

The key change areas mentioned in the addendum involve:

  • Handover
  • Staff Assignment to patients (allocation)
  • Medication administration workflows
  • Specimen collection workflows
  • Blood transfusion workflows
  • Rounding documentation
  • Diet ordering and food allergy documentation
  • Maternity specific documentation

Below are links to Quick Reference Guides that outline the changes step-by-step. Please note however, that you will be in a better position to understand these following your attendance at training, familiarisation and change activities.
