Remain switched on with EMR Downtime Viewers

Remain switched on with EMR Downtime Viewers

Many of our Dandenong, Cranbourne and Clayton teams will have noticed some slim, black metal boxes appearing under desktops and shelving over the last few weeks. These are the units that house the EMR Downtime Viewer (DTV) laptops.

DTV laptops are continuously updated with a copy of our patients’ EMR records. In the unlikely event of an EMR downtime being called in your area, the DTV is where the latest patient records can be found and printed so that you can continue providing seamless, quality care to your patients throughout.

Each DTV is paired with a printer to allow you to take swift action when you need to access up-to-date information.

In order to enable safe and excellent care at any time, the Downtime Viewers must remain plugged in and switched on, at all times. This enables them to record the latest information for you, 24/7. DTVs should also be housed within their locked units, readily located and accessible, for when they are needed.

We are ensuring no stone is left unturned for a safe and smooth Go-Live, and are currently working with your managers and the program team on EMR downtime procedures, drills and materials. These will be made available to you before Go-Live.

In the meantime, don’t forget that Downtime Viewers are your safety net and should always be on.
