04 Apr EMR update from our CEO Andrew Stripp
The decision has been taken to revise the Go-Live of the Monash Health Electronic Medical Record (EMR) by approximately three months. We will provide updated Go-Live timings once testing has been completed.
Due to extensive clinical participation, the design of our EMR is of the highest standard and fit-for-purpose. Our comprehensive system integration testing has discovered an issue with integration between the EMR and an existing Monash Health system.
As with any undertaking of this importance and magnitude, the safety of our patients and supporting our people through the change were key drivers of the decision to defer. We need to take our time and resolve this issue, so we can plan and progress toward a safe and smooth Go-Live.
Training has been paused to allow the integration testing to be completed and is planned to recommence in alignment with the revised program schedule. The pause in training will create the opportunity to consider feedback and learnings from the initial sessions and refine our lesson plans and materials before recommencing End User training.
We wish to reassure you that all annual leave that has currently been approved and falls within the new revised training schedule will be honoured. We understand and fully appreciate the commitment you have shown to ensure your availability for existing training dates. We will be flexible with the updated training schedule in order to accommodate annual leave wherever possible moving forward.
Our commitment to ensuring you are supported with the opportunity to learn, consolidate and practice your knowledge has not changed and major components of the EMR Program will continue as planned. This includes Go-Live readiness activities such as the EMR Interactives which have attracted over 800 attendees at Dandenong so far and have rolled out to Clayton.
